How To Decorate Your Home With Photos

beach house Walmart photo decoration A picture says a thousand words!!! Photos create emotion and draw you into a story.

I wanted to create a story in my living room. A story that my family could enjoy and would be an inspiration each and everyday. Plus I wanted a way to share a piece of our lives with friends and family when they entered our home.

Like most married couples, my husband and I have different opinions of how to express this inspiration in our home. My unplanned creation developed when our six year old daughter got sick. After being cooped up in the house for three days, I felt we both needed some fresh air.

That’s when the fun adventure of this project began. I grabbed a loaf of bread, my Nikon D50 digital camera, and my daughter. We headed across the street to the beach.

As we walked along, she would stop to feed the birds while I snapped some shots. It was one of those days that I will never forget.

Magic happened. We returned home and discovered some very nikon d40 beach photoprofessional looking pictures. With hues of blue, the gracefulness of the birds and the documentation of my child’s sick day, I knew I had my story.

I wanted to keep the project affordable so my husband wouldn’t see a money pit every time he looked at my art project. At Walmart’s photo lab, I discovered these beautiful pictures could be enlarged for incredible prices.

I had 20 x 30 size pictures enlarged for $15.86. The 16 x 20 size were $11.86. I walked over to the Walmart frame department to choose some stainless steel frames.

My entire project took one day and cost under $100. My husband arrived home that evening and was delighted.

Everyone who enters our home always compliments our photos. The project was so fun and easy. I just wish I would have done it sooner.

If we ever want to change out the pictures, I don’t have to feel guilty about spending a bunch of money like you would with expensive artwork. It’s only another $12 - $16 to change the look . . . how cool!!!!!
