Nikon D40 Digital Camera Review – An Amateur Photographer’s Perspective
Ignorance is bliss. As an amateur photographer who needs to take professional looking digital photos for websites, I thought that my inexpensive Olympus digital camera was perfect.
Then my stone mason brought over his Nikon D40 digital camera to take pictures of his stone work and my world changed. His Nikon D40 photos were stunning.
About that time another friend took lake photos with his Nikon D40 with similar results. Discovered the Nikon D40 digital camera makes amateurs look professional.
So I borrowed a Nikon D40 digital camera to try my luck. My first photo shoot was for a slide show of every home on our lake for a neighborhood Christmas party.
Having a magical backdrop of a clear blue sky, brightly colored fall leaves dancing in the trees and a shimmering lake made each home look like a Norman Rockwell painting with the Nikon D40. Pretty impressive since all I know how to do is aim and shoot in auto mode.
We used an iPod to share the photos with our neighbors on our wide screen TV at the Christmas party. The Nikon D40 lake photos were the perfect conversation starter and set the tone of our party. Neighbors had a photo of their home and were talking about why they loved living on our lake.
Isn’t this what photography is all about? Bringing back memories of good times and good friends?
Now several hundred dollars poorer, I bought my own Nikon D40 digital camera. Didn’t have to read camera reviews because the pictures taken told the real story.
Have never regretted the investment. You can’t go back in time to capture vacation, family and neighborhood memories. Perfect days will always be remembered with this camera. Life is good.

I HAVE NIKON D40 SINCE ONE YEAR. WHICH IS THE GOOD SETTING FOR NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY, NOT WILD LIFE PHOTOGRAPHY.
